Scottish Grand National Odds

The last Grand National of the season and it’s at Ayr Racecourse in Scotland and takes place on Saturday, 20th April 2013 at 15.50pm. It’s run over 4m 110 yards and is just as gruelling as any of the other Nationals but with less runners, in fact this year there will be 26 of them starting with the highest weighted, the 2013 Aintree Grand National winner Auroras Encore who will carry 11-10.

As you can imagine, his odds are just as crazy and there’s definitely no 66/1 to be had on him. Instead he’s a general 16/1 with Rival Destruval the current race favourite on 7/1 – he’s trained by Pauline Robinson and will be ridden by Timmy Murphy.

Big Occasion from the David Pipe yard is second favourite with Godsmejudge, Always Right and Monsieur Cadou all vying for joint third favourite and all around 12/1. There are some longer odds to be had but at Paddy Power Bookmakers at least half of those intending to start are 20/1 or shorter but they are paying out for the first five places and they have a ‘£20 Risk Free Bet’ Place a £20 sportsbook bet. If your FIRST bet is a loser Paddy Power will refund it in cash. Max refund is £20.

Donald McCain is running two horses – Lively Baron and Our Mick but it’s Venetia Williams who heads the trainers with three entries and as she’s on the best season of her training career, she could very well bag another major win here!
