Forpadydeplasterer represents the dream, the dream that you can be a regular man or woman and get involved in a horse racing syndicate that manages to bag a beauty and that’s exactly with the Goat Racing Syndicate did.

Earning his connections nearly £500K during his career, Forpadydeplasterer has had some illustrious wins and came into the 2013 Grand National fresh off the back of a steady prep season that included a win at Thurles back in November 2012.

He had been to Leopardstown twice since then and though he didn’t set the winning post alight he demonstrated solid, consistent jumping and was then trained specifically for the 2013 Grand National. The BHA Handicapper only gave him 11-00 which was within his capabilities.

He was 11 years old running in the 2013 National and with 24 chase starts under his belt had plenty of experience with three wins, twelve seconds and three third places so an each-way bet was potentially a big earner given his odds of 66/1.

He had previously run and placed at Aintree, runs on any type of ground though his wins have tended to come on soft or heavy ground and no doubt trainer Tom Cooper was hoping he could be a decent contender on April 6th 2013.

With Andrew McNamara on board, he could only manage to get around to Foinavon on the second circuit before being pulled up.
