Every year punters back the 40 Grand National horses in their millions and for many, how they pick their horse is as exciting and novel as a win or a place on the day. The idea that you backed a rank outsider because of the colour of his silks, or his name, and could defy the experts and pundits is an absolute buzz.

For many, Grey is the way to go and so for the 2014 Crabbies Grand National we’re taking a quick look at all of the grey horses that will hopefully line-up on the day.

[SOdds Our Father]

[SOdds Rose Of The Moon]

[SOdds Walkon]

[SOdds Swing Bill]

From the outset, when 115 entries were declared for the 2014 Grand National, there were plenty of grey runners entered. They were: Sire Collonges, Rose Of The Moon, Walkon, Quel Esprit, Swing Bill, Tarquinius, Our Father and Merlins Wish.

Following the final declarations, those greys have been reduced in number with only four remaining – Rose Of The Moon, Walkon, Swing Bill and Our Father all guaranteed a spot.

So it’s Walkon, Our Father, Swing Bill or Rose Of The Moon for fans of the grey horses this year and all are at significantly longer odds than a lot of other runners and are a general 50/1 with bookmakers!
